Dear brothers and sisters of RCAC,

Recently, a popular term in the food industry: “Eat without boundary”, which means that you can drink or eat as much as you can for a special kind of food , that is, food serving unlimited “All you can eat”. It is not a new idea and certainly good news for some people who can eat a lot.

I just returned to Prairie Theological Seminary not long ago to attend the school’s centennial celebration. The college is located in a quiet town, where I met with many teachers and classmates from the past. We had several times gathered at the only Chinese restaurant in the town, and we all loved the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet at there restaurant. We selected what we like and enjoyed to food to the full. There were several “all you can eat” restaurants in Richmond and Vancouver in the past, but they existed no more due to many eating too much gluttonous diners.

Unlimited, “take whatever you want”, how good it is! This reminds me of a Bible verse, “from the fullness of His grace, we have all received, grace upon grace!” (John 1:16). In God’s abundant grace, we can indeed receive ultimately and continuously, and we are freely received without paying any price. It is a pity that we often ignore God’s grace, and we often don’t even realize how blessed we are, and we always take God’s grace for granted.

Thinking of the grace of God, a hymn written by Annie Johnson Flint rings in my mind: “The Lord’s Grace is More Rich” I would like to share with you:

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength when the labors increase; To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,

To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision
Our God ever yearns His resources to share
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing
The Father both thee and thy load shall upbear

When we have exhausted our store of endurance
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources;
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

Chorus: His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.
His pow’r has no boundary known unto men.
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again

Whenever I think of God’s grace, I am always moved by the fact that the grace of the Lord had poured on me since I was young, even before I was born, when the time I didn’t really know about God , or didn’t know how to count God’s grace, and didn’t know how to appreciate God’s grace. The grace of God has never been withdrawn due to my ignorance, only keeps added. As what the hymn says: “His love has no limit; His grace has no measure. His power has no boundary known unto men. For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He give, and give, and give again.”

Have you ever thank God for His never cease grace keeps pouring on you? Let us always be thankful, count His blessings always, and give Him praise!

Your servant in Christ,
Pastor Jeanie Au Yeung
