最近我在主日講道中分享大衛和歌利亞的故事，談到大衛有信心打敗歌利亞，他的信心是從他過去對神的經歷而來。大衛對掃羅說：「耶和華救我脫離獅子和熊的爪，也必救我脫離這非利士人的手。」（撒上17:37）我們每個人在人生中都會經歷艱難，有時候我們的生活真地糟糕到了好像一盤散沙、無法收拾的地步。但是，當我們回過頭去看，看到神過去對我們一路的保守引領時，我們就會對神有信心，不至絕望。有一首詩叫「沙灘上的腳印」（作者不詳），很多基督徒都很熟悉，我每次讀到，心裡都抑制不住地感動，在此與弟兄姐妹們分享，盼望它也能成為你的安慰。
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord,
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed you the most, you would leave me.”
He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you,
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”
有一夜，我做了一個夢，夢見我在沙灘上與主漫步。昔日我人生的場景一幕幕劃過漆黑的夜空。每一幕中我都看到沙灘上有兩副腳印，一副是我，另一副是主。當我人生的最後一幕從眼前劃過，我回頭看沙灘上的腳印，注意到在我人生的路途有很多次，尤其是在我人生最低谷、最悲傷的時刻，沙灘上只有一副腳印。這著實令我不安。我問主：「主啊，你曾說一旦我決定跟隨你，你將一路與我同行。可是我看到，在我人生最悲傷、最愁煩的時刻，沙灘上只有一副腳印。我不明白，為什麼在我最需要你時，你卻離開我。」主輕聲對我說：「我的寶貝，我愛你，永不會離開你。在你經歷的一切試煉中，我從未離開你。你看到只有一副腳印時，那是我將你背在肩上。」
